CHURCH CONNECT

Older saints bring wisdom, experience, and spiritual depth that are absolutely vital to every church. The word Golden in our ministry name reflects just how precious and valuable these saints are to the body of Christ.

“Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.”

Yes, we may be older—but we are far from finished, and God is certainly not done with us! Older saints bring wisdom, experience, and spiritual depth that are absolutely vital to every church. The word Golden in our ministry name reflects just how precious and valuable these saints are to the body of Christ.

We have a “Golden Oldies” ministry for a reason. Many older believers feel isolated, overlooked, or unsure of their purpose. Our vision, rooted in Proverbs 29:18, is to remind every Golden Oldie that they are an essential part of HBC.

So, what does this ministry offer? Glad you asked!

Our Mission:

MINISTRY OF PRESENCE:  We want our Pastor to know that we are here—and that we are for him. When he looks out into the congregation and sees us, our prayer is that he feels encouraged and reminded of our love and support. We want to be present. We want to serve our Savior faithfully and be in our place consistently. Simply put—we love church!

MINISTRY OF PRAYER:  One of the greatest gifts we can offer is prayer. Many of us, in this season of life, have the time to walk closely with God—and we can use that time to intercede for others. We pray for our Pastor, our families, our church family, and every special request that comes our way. Prayer is powerful, and it is a ministry we can embrace wholeheartedly.

MINISTRY OF PARTICIPATION:  We love being actively involved and supporting one another through Bible lessons, spiritual encouragement, and shared purpose. Our desire is to mentor younger members and welcome new members—helping them grow to love the Lord and the Church as deeply as we do. Through our words and actions, we offer encouragement in many ways at our church. With years of wisdom and experience, we bring insights that strengthen and enrich the entire congregation.

Our goal is simple: to help our church in every way we can. We are grateful to be saved, to be serving, and to be a blessing to our church family. We want to ensure that our senior saints never feel alone or isolated by creating opportunities to connect with others.

Through teaching and preaching, we will provide ways to grow spiritually. We’ll also offer activities that bring joy, fellowship, and fun. Above all, we want to be part of a strong foundation—where people are loved and helped, sinners are saved, and the church continues to move forward for Christ.
